Fun stuff

I'll probably get to a real post this weekend, but for now, here's something fun that I saw PJ do on her livejournal.

1) Read the question, think of your answer, than type your answer into Google Image Search.
2) Pick a photo from the FIRST result page and post it.

I turn 23 in June.

That took something like an hour. I hate how small the workspace is on blogspot. Ugh. And don't ask me why Pearl is underlined.

Going Private

At Jonathan's request, we're going private.

Send me an email at sarahegeddes@gmail.com (or talk to me on facebook) if you want to be added on.

Even if we don't talk all that often, but you still want to see what we're up to, send me an email. I know what it's like to want to blog stalk people you don't really talk to anymore haha.

I'll wait a couple of weeks before I change it.

Updates

I'm trying to introduce some better habits in my life, and I would like to make blogging a habit. It's a good way to journal, and I also want our families to know what we're up to.

Here's just some random facts about our life right now.

1. I work at Bright Horizons in Salt Lake. I am a toddler teacher and my kids are between 1 and 2. They're seriously the cutest things ever. Most of their parents work at the University Hospital.

2. Jonathan is still working on his master's degree at the U in Computer Graphics.

3. Jonathan is looking for a job right now. So far he hasn't had luck, but we're praying and keeping our fingers crossed that something will happen.

4. We love our apartment, but if Jonathan gets a job we'll have to move out because this is low income housing. My job=low income....Jonathan with a job=above the limit. Oh how I wish my job paid more.

5. After some convincing we finally started watching The Office and we love it. We've watched the whole series all the way through and are going through them again. We like to have a show to watch together.

6. My co-teacher Elisa convinced me to join the Institute Choir and we have so much fun going every week. The music this semester hasn't been the best, but we still have fun. We also go to a Book of Mormon class every week while J is in a night class.

7. Everyone asks how the dogs have adjusted to Utah. We kind of think this is a funny question :) They're just dogs. It's not like they won't sleep well in a new place. As long as they're in the bed with us, they're fine :) But really they've had a great time here. We take them on more walks and we have a nice hallway that they like to run back and forth in.

8. There's a Costco about 2 minutes away from our apartment and we love it! We go on a date there at least once a month and buy some stuff, but usually just wander around and look at the fun new things.

9. I have gotten sick so much since I started my job. I know it comes with the territory, but I want to hurry up and build up my immune system so I'm not sick all the time. Knock on wood, but I haven't been sick in a little while now. Back in September I even threw up for the first time in 18 years! It was quite the experience, let me tell you. Jonathan actually gets sick a lot too. I think I carry it to him a lot without actually getting sick myself.

10. I feel like I need 10 things, but I can't really think of anything else, so I'll just say that I cut my hair recently and show a picture. It looks much better in person. I'm really not good at taking pictures of myself.

Back from the dead.

Can you believe I'm blogging? I can hardly believe it myself!

So much has happened the past few months. We finished our winter semester a week and a half ago and yesterday started our last first day at BYU-Idaho! We are so excited! (Although I think I'm more excited than J.) It's such a strange feeling to almost be done. It's bittersweet though. I wasn't one that was completely excited to go to college, but now I'm really starting to enjoy what I'm learning. Maybe that means a Masters is in my future at some point.

Speaking of Masters.....J got accepted to the University of Utah Master's program! He's totally pumped. He's on the computer graphics and scientific visualization track. I think I get the jist of it, but most of the time I still smile and nod when he talks.

Graduation from BYU-I is July 23 and J starts in Salt Lake on August 24th. That means that, in true Sarah fashion, I have been looking for apartments since before he even applied to school there. There are tons of choices, but I have no idea where we'll be. Ideally, we'd have full sized washer and dryer hook ups so that we could take our stuff, a kitchen that opens to the living room and (wishful thinking) a fenced backyard for the doggies. I'm actually finding a lot of good stuff from craigslist, but no one wants to hold their awesome deal until August. But if anyone knows of any good apartments, let me know!

This semester I'm taking a class called Administrative Issues. I was warned that a lot of people hate this class and it's a lot of work, but I'm super excited! We basically pretend we are putting together a preschool, after school program, etc. We have to create a handbook for the center with all kinds of things from a business plan and budget to child abuse prevention. I think it'll be great experience for the real world and will look awesome on a resume.

I feel like I'm missing some important information, but I guess not. It must just be my excitement with graduating. I got a hair cut, but that's nothing too exciting.

Oh, and we did go to California last week to visit. We had a ton of fun just relaxing and hanging out with family. But it was definitely too short.

Oh, Idaho

What happens in Idaho when you:

Get a drink of water in the morning
Go to church
Go to the in-laws for dinner
Stay a little bit longer than you should
Go home

You get frozen kitchen pipes!
Don't worry, ours didn't look like that, but they were frozen.

Frozen pipes lead to no water, which also leads to this:

Don't you worry, that's not our sink and we didn't have that many dishes

We called the landlord and she said to put some space heaters on the pipes to get them to thaw out.

So we did. The water came back a little, but still not enough to dishes. I was actually a little relieved I could get out of dish duty for a little while

The water came and went for a few days and then our trusty handman Brett decided he wanted to take a look at it. Here's Brett, and yes girls, he's single :)

According to Brett, car mechanics and plumbers are one in the same. Boy was he right. He fixed our pipes! Well, actually it was a combination of the pipes and also the faucet itself.

I never thought I'd be so excited to do dishes in my life.
